Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship Scheme 2019

A giant leap for meritorious students of West Bengal from Higher Secondary to Research Level, from economically backward sections of the society. Swami Vivekananda Scholarship 2019 – Applications are invited from Minority students for scholarship for the year 2019 under “Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship Scheme for Meritorious Students” for providing financial assistance.

Swami Vivekananda Scholarship 2019 Important Dates

  • Last Date of receiving online Application: 15th November 2019

Objectives

  • The objective of Merit-cum-Means scholarship for professional and technical courses is to support the students to pursue professional/technical studies for consequently increasing their employability potential.

Eligibility Criteria for Swami Vivekananda Scholarship 2019

  • The scheme benefits students of Class – XI and XII, and at the undergraduate level in Engineering, Medical and Technical / Professional courses besides Under Graduate, Post Graduate level students pursuing General Degree courses.
  • These scholarships will be sanctioned to deserving students on merit-cum-means criteria.
  • Students pursuing M.Phil courses and Doctoral courses (NON-NET JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW and NET-LECTURESHIP) from State-aided Institutions will come under the purview of this Scholarship Scheme.
  • The upper ceiling for family income has been fixed at Rs.2,50,000/- per annum
  • However, one time grants or assistance received from any source, or free or partly-free studentship allowed by the host institution will not debar the students from availing of the benefits of this scheme.

Means Judging Criteria

  • The total family income for the prospective scholars will be not more than Rs. 2,50,000/- per annum.
  • While applying, all students will be required to enclose an Affidavit written on a Non-judicial Stamp Paper value Rs.10/- or more and sworn by his/her parent/guardian before a Notary Public or a first-class magistrate, declaring their total family income from all sources (giving the detailed break-up) during the preceding financial year (i.e. from the 1st of April of the previous year to the 31st of March of the year of applying for the scholarship).

Merit Judging Criteria

  • Candidates whose family income is not more than Rs. 2,50,000/- per annum will be judged according to their academic merit in the under noted manner.

For HS Level

  • The minimum qualifying marks for being considered for award of scholarships will be 75% in aggregate, in Madhyamik Pariksha, and the total marks obtained in the Madhyamik Parkisha excluding pass marks in the additional subject, if any, will be the sole criterion for consideration

For Diploma Level

  • Students who are enrolled after passing out in Secondary (M.P) exam or its equivalent as stated above in 2017 for first year Diploma (Polytechnic) course[ H.S. Exam or its equivalent for Diploma in Pharmacy or Modern Office Practice and Management of two years duration] and after passing out in “West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education and Training “ courses, which is equivalent to H.S Exam for 2nd year Diploma(Polytechnic) courses on lateral entry basis, will be eligible to apply
  • Candidates must obtain at least 75% marks in aggregate in the qualifying exam for applying the scholarship [excluding the marks secured in the optional elective subject, if any].

For UG Level

  • The minimum qualifying marks for being considered for award of Swami Vivekananda Scholarship will be 75% in aggregate, in the H.S. Exam conducted by the W.B. Council of H.S. Education/Madrasah Shiksha Parishad. For the UG (Arts), UG (Commerce), UG (Science) separate merit lists will be prepared.

For PG Level

  • Candidates should be graduates securing at least 53% marks in the Honours subject at the graduation level. The marks obtained in Honours subject will be the only deciding criterion academically for award of the PG-level scholarships.

Selection Procedure

  • Scholarships will be provided to eligible students in order of merit and subject to the budgetary allocation provided by the State Govt.
  • For renewal, the applicant will be eligible for the scholarship if he/she has obtained 50% marks in his/her previous examination.

Sanction Procedure

  • The applications will be received online through a portal designed for this purpose. The applications will be verified by the Nodal Teachers of the respective School.
  • The selection will be made as per the eligibility criteria and disbursement will be made through Direct Bank Transfer.

Documents Required

Following documents are to be uploaded at the time of filing online application

  • Both side of the Mark sheet of the last examination.
  • Admit card of madhyamik or equivalent examination.
  • Income certificate in the prescribed format
  • First page of bank pass book mentioning clearly the A/C no. and IFSC details
  • Voter Id/Aadhaar card etc.
  • Recent Photograph (size must between 100 to 120KB)
  • Institute verification form duly authenticated by the Head of the Institution (HOI) in the prescribed format.

Important documents to be submitted for renewal

  • Mark sheet of the first and second semester for 2nd-year renewal and mark sheet of the third and fourth semester for 3rd-year renewal at UG level.
  • Mark sheet of the first and second semester for 2nd-year renewal at PG level.

(https://svmcm.wbhed.gov.in) in any browser and click on Registration option on the right side of the

Step 2: Please download the operation manual before proceeding for registration, by clicking on Download User
Manual button and also read the Instructions given in the page. After that click on the checkbox to agree

For Fresh Application, fill up the Registration form and then Click on Register button.
Obtained Marks, Total Marks and Obtained Percentage of applicants from Qualifying Examination Board of
WBBSE or WBCHSE or WBSCT&VE&SD (for Lateral) will be filled up automatically.

Note that, if an applicant selects 2018 as Year of Last Qualifying Exam, then an extra field will
appear where the applicant has to enter a reason for not applying for SVMCM Scholarship in 2018.

Kanyashree (K3) Application Process:
Applicants are required to Authenticate their previous Kanyashree Details for registration under

Renewal Application Process:
Renewal Applicants are not required to register rather they will login directly with their previous SVMCM Applicant
Id and Password and complete the application process.

Step 5: After clicking on the Register button, enter the OTP, sent to the mobile no., given at the time of registration.
After successful verification of Mobile No., an Applicant Id will be generated. The Login Credentials
will be sent to your registered mobile no and an email containing the Applicant ID and a copy of
Registration Slip will also be sent to your registered Email ID. Note down the Id for subsequent login
to complete rest of the Application Process and also for future use. [Shown in Fig:10 and Fig:11]

Step 6: Now click on Applicant Login option from any of the pages. Enter the Applicant Id, Password (Which
was set during registration process) and Security Code in the appeared pop-up. Then click on the Login
button. [Shown in Fig:12 and Fig:13]

Step 7: After successful login, Dashboard of the concerned applicant will be appeared. Click on Edit
Profile or Edit Application to continue the application process. Application process for Fresh and
Kanyashree are same. [Shown in Fig:14]

Step 8: At first fill up the Basic Details form and then click on Save & Continue button. Star marked fields
are mandatory fields. Please maintain the File Format and File Size of Image and Signature t the time of upload
of the same as mentioned in the form. In the Basic Details form, applicants only have to upload the image and
signature as the other fields are already filled up during the time of the registration. [Shown in Fig:15]

Step 9: After successful submission of Basic Details form, Personal Details form will be appeared. Fill up the form
and then click on Save & Continue button. Star marked fields are mandatory fields. While entering the
Bank Details, enter the correct IFSC, Bank Name and Branch Name will automatically be fetched. [Shown
in Fig:16]

For Kanyashree:
Kanyashree applicants may change their bank details as required. In that case, they have to select a reason
for the change from the given list. If, they choose ‘Others’ they have to mention the reason by themselves.

Step 10: Upload Scanned Supporting Documents form will appear after successful submission of Personal
Details form. Upload all the necessary documents as required and then click on Submit Application
button. While uploading the documents, please maintain the File Format and File Size as instructed in
the form. [Shown in Fig:17 and Fig:18 and Fig:19]
A Pop-up will be appeared for Fresh Applicants regarding the Competent Authorities for
Issuing Income Certificate. Close the Pop-up before uploading douments. An extra field
regarding Income Certificate Issuing will also be appeared for Fresh applicants. Make sure that
the income certificate is issued from the mentioned authorities. Otherwise It may not be
accepeted.

Step 11: After successful uploading of the documents, a success message will be displayed. Applicants may
download the Application details by clicking on the Download Application Details button. Click on Submit
Application button to submit the application. [Shown in Fig:20]

Note that, once an application is submitted, it cannot be edited unless the application is unlocked
from concerned HOI end.
